At Dovetail Games, data plays an important role in helping us understand how our games and business are performing, where opportunities exist and where we may need to act differently. We’re looking for an experienced Data & Business Insights Analyst who can bring together information from across the business and turn it into clear, compelling stories that support better decision-making.

The core focus of this role is business performance analysis. You’ll work with teams across Product, Marketing, Commercial, Finance, Development and Leadership to understand the questions that matter, explore the available evidence and explain what the data means in a way that is accessible, relevant and actionable. This is not a data engineering role. You’ll work closely with Dovetail’s Analytics Engineer, key stakeholders across Marketing, Commercial & Finance and the wider PullUp Entertainment Data Team, who provide the technical foundations, pipelines, reporting infrastructure and analytics-ready datasets. Your role will be to bring those sources together, apply business context and help people understand not only what is happening, but why it matters and what we should do next.

The ideal candidate would be able to spend at least one day a week in the office, however we can be flexible.

Why Join Us?

This role offers the opportunity to have a visible impact on how Dovetail Games makes decisions. You’ll work across a broad range of topics, including game performance, player behaviour, market trends, marketing effectiveness and live revenue strategy. You’ll also collaborate with specialists across the PullUp Entertainment Group, drawing on expertise in areas such as market insights, game data, live revenue strategy and data science. You’ll join a collaborative environment where curiosity, clear thinking and different perspectives are valued. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences and career paths. If you’re excited by the role but do not meet every requirement, we would still encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with colleagues across the business to understand key questions, priorities and decisions where data can provide valuable insight.
  • Translate business questions into clear analytical approaches, working with technical colleagues to identify the right data, measures and reporting solutions.
  • Analyse business performance across areas such as player behaviour, game performance, sales, marketing activity, live revenue and market trends.
  • Bring together insight from multiple sources to build a clear and balanced view of performance, opportunities and risks.
  • Transform complex analysis into simple, engaging and actionable stories for audiences at all levels of the organisation.
  • Create presentations, reports and visualisations that explain not only what the data shows, but why it matters and what action may be appropriate.
  • Work closely with Dovetail’s Analytics Engineer to define requirements for new datasets, reporting tools and analytics-ready data objects.
  • Use established dashboards and datasets to answer business questions, rather than building custom data pipelines or technical infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the PullUp Entertainment Data Team and wider Group specialists in areas including market insights, live revenue strategy, game analytics and data science.
  • Support product, marketing, commercial and leadership teams in evaluating performance, testing assumptions and making evidence-based decisions.
  • Contribute to the development of meaningful KPIs and measures that help teams track progress and understand outcomes.
  • Share knowledge and help colleagues across the business become more confident in interpreting and using data.
  • Keep up to date with developments in analytics, data visualisation, the games industry and wider player and market trends.
  • Travel occasionally to PullUp Entertainment’s Paris headquarters, typically 1–2 times per year or as business needs require.

What we look for in you:

  • Experience working in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Insights Analyst or Business Intelligence role.
  • Strong experience analysing business performance and translating findings into practical recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience combining information from multiple data sources to answer broader business questions.
  • Strong SQL skills and confidence working with large and varied datasets.
  • Experience using Tableau, Power BI or similar tools to explore data and communicate insight.
  • Ability to understand stakeholder needs and turn them into clear analytical questions.
  • Experience presenting findings to colleagues at different levels of an organisation.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build trusted relationships across different teams and disciplines.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in the video games, entertainment, subscription or digital consumer sectors.
  • Experience analysing player behaviour, game performance, live services or digital product performance.
  • Understanding of live revenue strategy, pricing, promotions or player lifecycle analysis.
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Databricks or similar data platforms.
  • Familiarity with Python for analysis, although this role is not expected to build production data pipelines.
  • Understanding of statistical analysis, experimentation or predictive modelling.
  • Experience working across international or group structures.
