Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Birmingham. The successful candidate must be able to start ASAP.
Role Purpose
- Ensure safeguarding concerns are addressed promptly and accurately.
- Support students, especially those facing challenges like mental health or being care leavers.
- Help students build confidence to access support services independently and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Handle safeguarding and welfare enquiries via email and phone, ensuring they meet guidelines.
- Support high-needs students, such as ESOL learners, young parents, and vulnerable adults, to help them stay in their courses.
- Provide immediate support to ensure young people and vulnerable adults are safe.
- Follow up on safeguarding incidents according to legal requirements.
- Work with other teams to ensure smooth transitions and ongoing support for high-needs students.
- Maintain up-to-date electronic records, and collaborate with parents, staff, and external agencies as needed.
- Help manage a caseload of students, assess risks, and coordinate interventions or referrals when necessary.
