We are recruiting for a Deputy Education Manager to join a leading education provider within a secure custodial environment. Working closely with the Education Manager, you will help lead the department, manage staff, and drive the delivery of high-quality courses that support adult learners in turning their lives around. This is a highly rewarding, fast-paced leadership role where your management skills directly contribute to reducing reoffending through the power of education.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Departmental Leadership: Support the daily smooth running of the education department, managing staff deployment and physical resources.
- Curriculum & Quality: Lead curriculum development and innovation to ensure an engaging, flexible provision that drives student retention and success.
- Staff Management: Build a collaborative team culture, overseeing staff performance, inductions, appraisals, and professional development.
- Financial & Data Oversight: Assist with managing departmental budgets efficiently and utilise data rigorously to improve teaching quality.
- Stakeholder Relations: Liaise with management teams, community partners, and employers to align education goals.
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualifications: A Degree (or equivalent), a recognised teaching qualification, and a Leadership & Management qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Experience: Proven management experience within an educational setting.
- Skills: Strong budget management skills, excellent communication, and the ability to cultivate an aspirational culture where staff and learners thrive.
