Plumbing Tutor Location: Newcastle Training Centre Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience) Position: Full-time An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Plumbing Tutor to join a respected training provider at their brand-new Newcastle Training Centre, opening in 2025. This role focuses on delivering exceptional teaching and learning in plumbing and gas standards, ensuring apprentices excel at Level 3 and are fully prepared for end-point assessments. Key Responsibilities: Deliver innovative teaching and assessment for theoretical and practical Level 3 courses in line with awarding organization requirements. Develop high-quality teaching resources and activities to enhance the curriculum. Assess and provide constructive feedback on apprentices’ coursework. Track attendance, punctuality, and progress, implementing interventions to ensure timely achievement. Advise on and manage materials and equipment for workshops and teaching activities. Maintain discipline and ensure the welfare and safety of apprentices during training sessions. Liaise with internal and external inspection bodies (e.g., Ofsted), responding promptly to requests. Provide support and guidance to apprentices throughout their training, promoting their development and readiness for assessments. Respond to employer and apprentice queries professionally and promptly. Keep accurate administrative records and maintain up-to-date industry and teaching knowledge through CPD activities. Person Specification: Essential Criteria: Level 3 qualification in Plumbing (NVQ3 or equivalent). Current Gas ACS certification and Unvented Hot Water qualification. Level 5 teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards). Proficiency in Maths and English at Level 2 or above. Demonstrated occupational competence in the plumbing and gas industry. Strong IT skills and a self-motivated, adaptable approach to work.Desirable Criteria: Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and end-point assessments.
