Responsibilities
- Practical Instruction: Lead independent catering sessions in a commercial kitchen environment, teaching students the technical and soft skills required for the hospitality industry.
- Educational Support: Support theory-based learning and deliver prepared lesson plans at the main campus, ensuring a cohesive link between practice and principle.
- Employability Coaching: Guide students through "Skills for Life" frameworks, helping them navigate the complexities of a professional working environment.
- Safety Stewardship: Maintain rigorous standards of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene, ensuring all learners operate safely in high-pressure catering settings.
- Collaborative Spirit: Work closely with the Assistant Head of Department and the wider SEND team to adapt to the evolving needs of our learners.
Requirements
- Culinary Expertise: You hold a minimum Level 2 Chef qualification and/or have at least 6 months of experience in a commercial catering or kitchen environment.
- Aspiring Educator: You already hold, or are fully committed to achieving, a Level 3 Award in Education and Training (support provided).
- Core Skills: A minimum Level 2 standard in English and Maths is required to support the academic growth of your students.
- Resilience & Empathy: You possess a "can-do" attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a genuine understanding of the challenges faced by SEND learners.
