We are looking for a Mechanical Machining / Fitting Coach to support and develop Engineering Apprentices across Blackburn and the surrounding area.
The Role
As part of this role, you will manage a caseload of Engineering Apprentices and work closely with their employers, which include local SMEs as well as some of the UK's largest manufacturing organisations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coaching, mentoring and supporting apprentices throughout their apprenticeship journey
- Conducting regular face-to-face visits at employer sites
- Building strong relationships with employers to ensure high-quality training and progress
- Monitoring apprentice performance, progress, and development
- Providing guidance, encouragement, and industry insight to help apprentices succeed
Due to the nature of the role, a full, clean driving licence is essential.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Industry experience in mechanical machining and/or fitting
- A passion for engineering and developing others
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Teaching or training qualifications are not required - full funding and support will be provided for the right candidate to achieve these
