Are you an experienced English Teacher looking for a new opportunity within specialist education? We are recruiting for an English Teacher to join a specialist education organisation supporting young people with SEND and SEMH needs.

The Role

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons.
  • Adapt teaching to meet individual learner needs.
  • Support learners working across a range of abilities.
  • Monitor, assess and track progress.
  • Support learners to achieve their English qualifications.
  • Build positive relationships and promote engagement.
  • Support positive behaviour, attendance and participation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and specialist support staff.
  • Help learners develop confidence, communication and progression skills.

About You

  • Strong English subject knowledge.
  • Recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed or DET.
  • Experience teaching English, ideally GCSE and/or Functional Skills.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Able to differentiate effectively for individual needs.
  • Passionate, resilient and learner-focused.
  • Experience working with SEND, SEMH, alternative provision or specialist education would be advantageous but is not essential.
