Are you an experienced SEND or Supported Learning leader looking for your next interim opportunity within Further Education? We're seeking an inspiring and highly organised Supported Learning Manager to lead and develop high-quality provision for learners with SEND, EHCPs and High Needs across a large and diverse FE environment in East London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established college group and play a key role in shaping inclusive practice, supporting staff and ensuring learners receive the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.

The Opportunity

As Supported Learning Manager, you'll provide operational and strategic leadership across Supported Learning provision, ensuring learners with additional needs receive outstanding support that enables them to achieve positive outcomes. You'll lead and develop teams of Learning Support Assistants and specialist staff, oversee EHCP processes, work closely with curriculum leaders and act as a key point of contact for families, local authorities and external agencies. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced SEND or Inclusive Learning leader who enjoys improving services, developing teams and making a genuine impact on learners' lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of Supported Learning and Additional Learning Support provision.
  • Manage and develop Learning Support Assistants and specialist support staff.
  • Oversee support plans, learner reviews and EHCP implementation.
  • Chair Annual Reviews and liaise with parents, carers, local authorities and external professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to ensure learners receive appropriate and effective support.
  • Monitor learner progress, attendance, engagement and outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support quality assurance activities, self-assessment and service development.
  • Ensure compliance with SEND legislation, funding requirements and college policies.
  • Contribute to staff training, coaching and the development of inclusive teaching practice.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience leading Supported Learning, ALS, Inclusive Learning or SEND provision within Further Education.
  • Strong knowledge of EHCPs, High Needs funding and SEND legislation.
  • Experience managing or developing teams within education or support services.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to analyse data and use it to improve learner outcomes.
  • A collaborative leadership style and a passion for inclusive education.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality and student wellbeing.
  • A teaching qualification, SEND qualification or experience within FE Supported Learning, Additional Learning Support or Inclusive Learning would be highly advantageous.
