A leading educational and training provider is seeking an outstanding Specialist Trainer Assessor – Pipefitting to join a dynamic engineering delivery team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic professional to provide expertise in teaching, assessment, and curriculum development, supporting the growing skills demand for current and future civil and industrial engineering projects.
Applicants from industry backgrounds without prior teaching experience are welcome, as full support and training will be provided. Those with training or educational sector experience are also encouraged to apply.
Role Responsibilities- Course Management
- Oversee the quality and development of pipework and mechanical fitting programmes.
- Act as the first point of contact for programme queries and issues.
- Record and report on learner retention, achievement, and progress.
- Ensure course documentation and enrolments are accurate and up to date.
- Assessment
- Complete progress reviews and develop individual training plans.
- Conduct learner assessments both in practical and workplace settings, maintaining accurate records.
- Training
- Identify training needs and develop tailored action plans.
- Deliver training using approved resources, onsite and offsite.
- Promote training opportunities to employers and support business growth.
- Co-ordination and Support
- Monitor learner progress and provide guidance to complete qualifications.
- Liaise with employer representatives to coordinate activities and programme data.
- Attend professional development events and team meetings as required.
- Growth & Curriculum Development
- Support the promotion of apprenticeships and business opportunities.
- Contribute to curriculum development to ensure programmes reflect industry requirements.
- Administration
- Maintain accurate learner and employer documentation.
- Other Responsibilities
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Ensure a safe working environment for learners, staff, and visitors.
- Support internal and external events as needed.
- Relevant qualification and experience in Pipefitting or a related engineering discipline.
- Up-to-date industry skills and knowledge.
- Ability to motivate and support learners and less experienced staff.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel to training sites.
- Willingness to work towards teaching and assessor qualifications.
- High levels of motivation and initiative.
- IV (Internal Verifier) qualification.
- Experience in safety‑critical sectors, welding/fabrication, or employer liaison.
- Experience of leading teams and scheduling work systems.
- Generous pension scheme with 20.3% employer contribution.
