We're working with a well-respected Further Education provider to recruit an experienced Learning Support Coordinator to lead and develop their Additional Learning Support provision. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND, Inclusive Learning or Learning Support professional looking to step into a leadership role where you'll have the opportunity to shape support services, lead a dedicated team and make a genuine difference to learners with additional needs.
The Role
As Learning Support Coordinator, you'll be responsible for leading a team of Learning Support Practitioners and Learning Support Assistants, ensuring learners receive high-quality, personalised support throughout their educational journey. Working collaboratively with curriculum teams, parents, carers and external agencies, you'll coordinate support that enables learners with SEND and EHCPs to achieve their educational goals, progress into employment or further study and develop greater independence. You'll also play a key role in maintaining compliance, monitoring quality standards and continuously improving learning support provision across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop a team of Learning Support staff.
- Coordinate the planning and deployment of learning support across curriculum areas.
- Monitor learner progress and ensure support meets EHCP outcomes and identified needs.
- Maintain accurate records to support funding, audits and quality assurance.
- Work closely with curriculum teams to promote inclusive teaching and learning.
- Build positive relationships with learners, parents, carers and external agencies.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement and inspection readiness.
About You
We're keen to hear from candidates who have:
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience leading or managing staff within an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEND, EHCPs and the SEND Code of Practice (2015).
- Experience supporting learners with additional learning needs and disabilities.
- Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
- A genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people and adults.
