About the Role
You will work closely with students who require personal care support, helping them to access their learning and participate fully in college life. This is a hands-on role that combines practical care with genuine encouragement, working alongside teaching staff to ensure every learner is treated with dignity and respect.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing personal care support to students in line with their individual care plans.
- Assisting learners with mobility, hygiene and other daily living needs as required.
- Supporting students to access lessons and activities alongside their peers.
- Working closely with teaching staff, therapists and families to ensure consistent, joined-up support.
- Encouraging independence and building learners' confidence in their own abilities.
- Maintaining accurate records in line with the organisation's safeguarding and care procedures.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience or a genuine willingness to provide personal care support
- A calm, patient and compassionate approach to working with young people or adults with additional needs
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience working in an education or care setting
- A relevant qualification in health and social care or learning support
