We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Functional Skills Tutor to join a dynamic team of education professionals, delivering high-quality English and Maths Functional Skills to learners at Levels 1 and 2. Role Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching of Functional Skills English and Maths (Levels 1 & 2) to adult learners.
- Plan, prepare and deliver sessions that motivate and challenge learners of varying abilities.
- Assess and monitor learner progress, providing constructive feedback and individualised support.
- Embed Functional Skills learning within vocational and practical contexts.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high standards of delivery and learner achievement.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to internal quality assurance processes.
Essential Requirements
- Recognised teaching qualification (Cert Ed, PGCE, DTLLS, or equivalent).
- Minimum of Level 2 (GCSE grade C/4 or above) in English and Maths.
- Proven experience delivering Functional Skills or GCSE English/Maths within FE, adult learning, or training environments.
- Strong classroom management and learner engagement skills.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal abilities.
- A genuine passion for supporting learners to achieve their goals.
Desirable
- Experience teaching in a military, defence, or public sector training environment.
- Assessing and/or IQA qualifications (A1, CAVA, TAQA, V1).
