A long-established, values-driven community organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to safeguard its finances and support the delivery of vital services for children, families and the wider community. This is a trusted, hands-on role where your financial expertise will directly support sustainability, growth and positive social impact.
What you'll do:
- Take ownership of day-to-day financial administration while working closely with senior leadership to maintain strong controls and clear reporting.
- Manage bookkeeping, financial records and databases (Xero).
- Prepare budgets, expense reports and financial summaries.
- Support payroll preparation, expense claims and invoices.
- Monitor project budgets and petty cash.
- Maintain financial policies, procedures and compliance.
- Support senior managers with financial insight and admin.
- Identify efficiencies, manage risk and improve processes.
Who this role suits:
You're detail-driven, organised and confident managing charity finances. You enjoy working independently, building strong systems and knowing your work helps services thrive.
You’ll need:
- Proven experience as a Finance Officer, Bookkeeper or similar.
- AAT Level 4 (minimum).
- Strong working knowledge of Xero and MS Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Desirable: Charity or community sector experience, business administration qualifications, ongoing CPD.
