A long-established, values-driven community organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to safeguard its finances and support the delivery of vital services for children, families and the wider community. This is a trusted, hands-on role where your financial expertise will directly support sustainability, growth and positive social impact.

What you'll do:

  • Take ownership of day-to-day financial administration while working closely with senior leadership to maintain strong controls and clear reporting.
  • Manage bookkeeping, financial records and databases (Xero).
  • Prepare budgets, expense reports and financial summaries.
  • Support payroll preparation, expense claims and invoices.
  • Monitor project budgets and petty cash.
  • Maintain financial policies, procedures and compliance.
  • Support senior managers with financial insight and admin.
  • Identify efficiencies, manage risk and improve processes.

You’ll need:

  • Proven experience as a Finance Officer, Bookkeeper or similar.
  • AAT Level 4 (minimum).
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero and MS Office.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Desirable: Charity or community sector experience, business administration qualifications, ongoing CPD.
