Construction Technician Permanent Location: the North West Salary: £24,000 per annum About the Role As a Construction Technician, you'll provide practical, hands-on support to the construction department, helping to maintain a safe, well-equipped and efficient workshop environment for learners and staff. You'll work closely with lecturers to prepare materials, tools and equipment for practical sessions, ensuring everything is ready, in good working order and compliant with health and safety standards. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in a well-run workshop and enjoys supporting others to learn. Key Responsibilities Preparing workshops, tools, materials and equipment ahead of practical teaching sessions. Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs and safety checks on tools and equipment. Supporting lecturers and learners during practical sessions, including demonstrating safe working practices. Managing stock levels and ordering materials and consumables as needed. Maintaining accurate records of equipment, maintenance and health and safety checks. Ensuring workshops are kept clean, organised and compliant with health and safety regulations.What We're Looking For Essential: Practical experience within a construction trade or discipline Good working knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used in construction A strong understanding of health and safety practices in a workshop environment Good organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work well as part of a team and support both staff and learnersDesirable (but not essential): Experience working in a college, training provider or similar educational setting A relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship background Experience maintaining stock or equipment recordsIf you take pride in a well-run workshop and want to put your practical skills to use supporting the next generation of construction learners, we'd love to hear from you.
