A welcoming and inclusive secondary school is seeking a proactive and organised Deputy SENCO Administrator to join its established SEND and inclusion team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with SEND administration, pastoral, education support, nursery SENCO, or student support experience who is passionate about helping young people access the support they need to succeed.

The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO and wider pastoral team to support the smooth day-to-day running of SEND provision across the school, ensuring students, families, and staff receive high-quality support and communication.

The Role

The Deputy SENCO Administrator will provide operational and administrative support to the SENCO, helping coordinate SEND processes, student interventions, referrals, annual reviews, and communication with parents and external agencies. Key Responsibilities
  • Support the SENCO with the coordination and administration of SEND provision across the school
  • Assist with EHCP reviews, referrals, annual review paperwork, and student documentation
  • Maintain accurate SEND records, intervention tracking, and provision maps
  • Liaise with parents, carers, external agencies, and pastoral teams regarding student support
  • Support the organisation of meetings, reviews, and SEND-related communication
  • Monitor student progress data and help track interventions and outcomes
  • Provide pastoral and wellbeing support for students where required
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, safeguarding teams, and Learning Support Assistants
  • Support inclusive practice and contribute to positive outcomes for students with additional needs
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Experience within a school, nursery, college, alternative provision, or educational support setting
  • A calm, proactive, and student-centred approach
  • Confidence managing sensitive information and maintaining accurate records
  • Ability to work effectively within a busy multidisciplinary environment
Desirable Experience
  • Previous experience as a SEN Administrator, SENCO Administrator, Progress Coach, Learning Support Coordinator, or similar role
  • Knowledge of EHCP processes and the SEND Code of Practice
  • Experience liaising with external agencies and families
  • Experience supporting safeguarding or pastoral processes
  • Understanding of intervention tracking and SEND documentation
