Overview

A large Further Education engineering department is recruiting an Advanced Technical Trainer to deliver training and assessment to Bus & Coach apprentices. The role involves practical delivery for apprentices attending block release training, supported by modern workshop facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver Bus & Coach apprenticeship training to required standards
  • Deliver theory, practical sessions and assessments
  • Carry out vocational assessments on-site and off-site (national programmes)
  • Support and mentor apprentices throughout their programme
  • Liaise with employer partners to support learner progress
  • Work flexibly across wider engineering areas where required

Essential Requirements

  • Industry experience in Bus & Coach operations, maintenance or engineering
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in relevant vocational area
  • Strong training, coaching or mentoring ability
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and health & safety standards

Desirable

  • Teaching or training qualification (not essential - support provided)
