The Role

As Carpentry Technician, you will

  • Support lecturers with the preparation and delivery of practical lessons.
  • Assist learners across different levels to develop their carpentry skills.
  • Maintain carpentry workshops, tools and equipment to a high standard.
  • Support the safe and effective use of workshop facilities.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement to learners during practical activities.
  • Help ensure health and safety procedures are followed across the workshop.
  • Support learners working towards further study, employment and apprenticeships.

What We're Looking For

  • Relevant industry experience within carpentry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and support learners.
  • Good organisational and IT skills.
  • A strong understanding of workshop health and safety.

Previous teaching experience is not essential. The key requirement is strong industry knowledge and the ability to support and motivate learners.
