We are seeking a motivated and organised individual to join our internal finance team as a Finance Apprentice. Based at our Aztec West (Bristol) office, this role will give you hands-on exposure across key finance and accounting functions - ideal for those who are keen to build a long-term career in finance.
You will work closely with experienced finance colleagues, assisting with transaction processing, reconciliations, ledger management, and general administrative finance duties.
Key Responsibilities- Statement Upload & Reconciliation: Upload financial statements weekly and reconcile them to our accounting records.
- Credit-Card Receipts Management: Prepare and collate outstanding receipts, and share these with relevant credit-card holders to ensure timely submission.
- Purchase Ledger Support: Chase invoice approvals, and upload approved invoices into our accounting software.
- Expenses Processing: Upload staff expense claims to the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policy.
- Sales Ledger & Remittance Allocation: Assist with sales ledger tasks, including remit allocations and posting of customer payments.
- Contractor & Stakeholder Liaison: Answer incoming calls from contractors or other external parties (as required), and handle basic enquiries professionally.
- General Administrative Support: Perform ad-hoc administrative duties linked to the finance function, supporting smooth operations of the team.
- A keen interest in finance, accounting or related discipline - whether via education, previous work, or personal motivation.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable and conscientious with good time management and the ability to meet regular deadlines.
- Good communication skills - both written and verbal - for liaising internally and externally.
- A proactive and positive attitude, willingness to learn, and readiness to take on different tasks as needed.
- Team-player mindset, but also able to work independently when required.
- You do not need to have prior professional finance experience - but enthusiasm for learning and a genuine interest in accounting and financial processes will make you stand out.
