An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Motor Vehicle to join a growing curriculum team in Barrow-in-Furness. This role would suit either an experienced Motor Vehicle Lecturer or an experienced Vehicle Technician looking to take the next step into education. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, training and assessment across a range of motor vehicle programmes, helping learners develop the practical skills, technical knowledge and professional behaviours required for successful careers within the automotive sector.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering engaging and practical lessons in Motor Vehicle studies.
- Teaching vehicle maintenance, servicing, diagnostics and repair techniques.
- Planning and preparing learning materials, schemes of work and lesson plans.
- Assessing learner progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Supporting learners to achieve their full potential and career aspirations.
- Maintaining accurate learner records in line with awarding body and organisational requirements.

About You
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- A minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle or an equivalent automotive qualification.
- Significant industry experience as a Vehicle Technician.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repair procedures.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A passion for sharing your knowledge and supporting learner success.
- A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential. Full support will be provided for industry candidates looking to transition into teaching and gain a recognised teaching qualification.
