Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Grimsby.

Role Purpose

  • Support managers with everyday people-related matters like performance, absence, and recruitment
  • Build positive relationships across teams while promoting a helpful and solutions-focused HR culture
  • Help implement people processes that support staff wellbeing, development, and change

Main Duties

  • Advise managers on staff issues such as performance, absences, flexible working, and grievances
  • Support meetings by attending, taking notes, and guiding on HR policies and next steps
  • Manage admin processes for new starters, changes to roles, and leavers
  • Help with recruitment by processing agency requests and advising on contracts
  • Monitor and update HR systems, reports, and trackers (e.g. sickness, training, post changes)
  • Be a visible point of contact across sites and attend meetings to give people-related advice

Requirements

  • CIPD Level 3 or higher
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practice
  • Previous experience handling employee relations issues
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills
  • Able to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
