About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Fabrication & Welding Assessor to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong industry experience who is passionate about supporting the next generation of skilled fabricators and welders. You'll work closely with apprentices and employers, helping learners develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to succeed in their careers. You'll manage a caseload of apprentices, carrying out workplace assessments, monitoring progress and providing constructive feedback throughout their apprenticeship journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of Fabrication & Welding apprentices.
- Conduct regular workplace visits to assess apprentice competence and monitor progress.
- Complete assessment documentation and maintain accurate learner records using an e-portfolio system.
- Deliver high-quality coaching and support to help apprentices achieve their apprenticeship standards.
- Prepare apprentices for End-Point Assessment (EPA).
- Work closely with employers to ensure apprentices receive the support they need in the workplace.
- Monitor off-the-job training and ensure apprenticeship requirements are met.
- Provide timely feedback and guidance to learners.
- Attend standardisation meetings, team meetings and continuing professional development activities.
- Promote high standards of quality, health & safety and learner achievement.
Essential Qualification
- NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding

We're looking for someone who:
- Has substantial industry experience in Fabrication & Welding.
- Has experience supporting or mentoring apprentices or learners (desirable but not essential).
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Can build positive relationships with employers and apprentices.
- Is passionate about developing people and helping others achieve their potential.
- Is able to work independently while managing a varied caseload.
- Holds a full UK driving licence and is willing to travel to employer sites.
