About the Role

You'll join an education provider as an Estates Group Decorator, responsible for maintaining and enhancing the aesthetic appearance of buildings across all campuses. Reporting to the Director of Estates, Facilities, Health & Safety and Security, you'll take pride in keeping a busy education environment looking its best. This is a cross-campus role, so you'll manage your tasks and responsibilities effectively while travelling between multiple sites. The role involves regular evening and weekend working, giving you variety and the chance to make a real difference across the organisation. You'll bring a hands-on approach and a keen eye for detail, combining skilled decorating work with wider site maintenance to support a safe, welcoming setting for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Painting and decorating: Correctly preparing surfaces, including cleaning, sanding, filling and removing old surface coverings. Applying paint, varnishes, stains and protective coatings to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers or spray equipment. Installing internal and external vinyl coverings. Liaising with the marketing department to ensure the correct use of colours and finishes. Developing and managing a schedule of decorating across all campuses.
  • Site maintenance: Carrying out planned maintenance projects and responding to reactive repair requests. Completing sealing and mastic work within bathrooms, kitchens and other suitable areas. Assisting with general maintenance duties, such as setting up for exams or moving furniture.
  • Health and safety: Adhering to COSHH regulations, maintaining a clean workspace, following correct storage procedures and safety procedures. Working at height, erecting and using scaffolding or working platforms as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Essential: Experience in painting and decorating, including surface preparation and finishing. Confidence working across multiple sites and managing your own schedule. A flexible approach, with willingness to work regular evenings and weekends. Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe working practices. Confidence working at height using scaffolding or working platforms.
  • Desirable (but not essential): Experience installing internal and external vinyl coverings. Experience carrying out sealing and mastic work. Experience within an education or estates setting.
