Job Advert: Electrical Engineering Assessor / Training OfficerJob Title: Electrical Engineering Assessor / Training OfficerPosition Type: Permanent, Full TimeSalary: £35,000 - £45,000About the RoleAre you an experienced electrical engineering professional looking to support and inspire the next generation of engineers? We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineering Assessor / Training Officer to join our operational team on a permanent basis.
In this role, you will take responsibility for a caseload of apprentices within the engineering sector, guiding them through their training, delivering high-quality development plans, and supporting them to successfully achieve their Apprenticeship Standards and progress to End Point Assessment (EPA).Key ResponsibilitiesCaseload Management: Oversee and guide a caseload of learners, delivering structured development plans to maximize their potential in line with Apprenticeship Standard requirements.
Progress Reviews & Sessions: Conduct monthly learning sessions and 12-week progress reviews against Training Plans, setting clear actions to ensure timely completion.
Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours (KSBs): Monitor, deliver, and collate evidence for required KSBs using digital tools such as the OneFile e-portfolio system. EPA Preparation: Prepare apprentices for End Point Assessment by conducting mock EPA activities to maximize success and retention rates.
Employer Engagement & Health and Safety: Carry out annual Health & Safety vettings and due diligence for new employer workplace environments.
Training Delivery: Develop and deliver training for apprenticeship programmes as well as commercial training courses.
Administration & Compliance: Support learner inductions, create enrolment paperwork, manage data on the Apprenticeship Information System (AIS), and minimize learner withdrawals.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to implement continuous quality improvements.
Recruitment & Events: Assist with learner recruitment activities, including candidate interviews, career events, and open days.
Key Competencies & QualificationsTechnical Competence: Minimum of a Level 3 in Electrical EngineeringPlanning & Organisation: Excellent time-management skills with the ability to manage your own workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
Communication: Ability to maintain clear, effective communication with apprentices, employers, and internal teams. Teamwork: A collaborative approach with a commitment to working across various business functions.
