Transition Officer Lead in Surrey

Transition Officer Lead Permanent | Full Time Location: the South East Salary: £36,000 per annum Are you an experienced SEND professional looking for an opportunity to lead and shape outstanding transition support for learners with additional needs? About the Role As Transition Officer Lead, you'll oversee and develop high-quality transition processes for learners with SEND, EHCPs and other barriers to learning at a further education provider. You'll lead transition, assessment and admissions processes, ensuring learners receive the right support from day one. You'll also manage a team of Transition Officers and work closely with Local Authorities, schools, SENCOs, parents and carers to coordinate statutory processes and ensure learners are well prepared for their next step. Your responsibilities will include: Coordinating and quality assuring EHCP consultations and statutory processes. Developing effective transition and learner support plans. Leading and supporting a team of Transition Officers. Working closely with Local Authorities, schools, SENCOs, parents/carers and external partners. Supporting EHCP annual reviews and ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice. Monitoring learner needs, provision and High Needs funding. Driving high-quality, inclusive practice across the organisation. What We're Looking For Essential: Experience working with SEND learners in an education or relevant support setting Knowledge of EHCPs, SEND transition and the SEND Code of Practice Experience coordinating EHCP consultations or statutory processes Previous line management or team management experience Experience working with Local Authorities, schools, SENCOs and families Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills Level 2 English and Maths, or willingness to achieve Desirable (but not essential): A relevant qualification in SEND, education, wellbeing or a related area, or willingness to work towards one If you're passionate about improving outcomes for learners with SEND and have the experience to lead effective transition processes, we'd love to hear from you.
