About the Role

As a Motor Vehicle Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging, high-quality teaching that helps learners build the practical skills and technical knowledge they need to succeed in the automotive industry. You'll bring your own experience into the classroom and workshop, sharing your knowledge to help learners achieve at the highest level. Working closely with colleagues in the team, you'll act as a personal tutor, promote strong attendance, and contribute to the planning, development and review of your subject area. You'll play an active part in driving continuous improvement across the provision.

If you don't yet hold a teaching qualification, this could still be the role for you. Our client welcomes applications from industry professionals and offers support to help you move into teaching.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering effective teaching and assessment across motor vehicle programmes.
  • Supporting learners in both classroom and practical workshop settings.
  • Acting as a personal tutor and providing pastoral support to your learners.
  • Monitoring learner progress and promoting high levels of attendance and achievement.
  • Contributing to team meetings and to the ongoing development of your subject area.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Relevant industry experience within the motor vehicle or automotive sector and Level 3 Qualification
  • The ability to engage and motivate learners of differing abilities
  • A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and learner support

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A teaching qualification such as a PGCE, DET/DTLLS or Cert Ed
  • Previous experience of teaching and assessing in the further education sector
  • Assessment and internal verification experience
