About the Role
As a Surveying Design Planning Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging theoretical and practical teaching across surveying, design and planning topics, helping learners build the knowledge and skills they need to progress into industry. You'll plan and lead sessions that bring the subject to life, adapting your approach to suit learners at different stages of their development. Working as part of a supportive team, you'll play a key role in shaping confident, work-ready students.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering theoretical and practical lessons across surveying, design and planning.
- Assessing learners' work and providing constructive, timely feedback.
- Monitoring learner progress and supporting individuals to achieve their goals.
- Maintaining a safe, well-organised and professional learning environment.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop and improve the curriculum.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Relevant industry experience in surveying, design or planning
- Strong knowledge of your subject area and current industry practice
- The ability to engage and motivate learners at different levels
- Good communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Previous experience teaching or mentoring in a further education setting
- An assessor or verifier award
