About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll work alongside teaching staff at a further education provider to give learners the individual support they need to succeed. You'll play a key part in making sessions accessible, engaging and inclusive for every student.
Working across the classroom, you'll support learners on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping them to build confidence, develop independence and stay on track with their studies.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting learners individually and in small groups to access the curriculum.
Working closely with lecturers to adapt materials and activities to meet learner needs.
Helping learners to build confidence, independence and study skills.
Encouraging positive behaviour and a supportive learning environment.
Monitoring learner progress and feeding back to teaching staff.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
A genuine commitment to supporting learners with additional needs
Patience, empathy and strong communication skills
The ability to work well as part of a team
A flexible, proactive approach to supporting learning
Desirable (but not essential):
Previous experience in a learning support or education setting
A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning
