About the RoleAs a Multi Skills Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging, practical teaching across a range of construction and trade disciplines, helping learners build the hands-on skills and underpinning knowledge they need to progress into employment or further study.
You'll plan and prepare lessons that blend theory with practical application, creating a supportive learning environment where students can develop their confidence and competence. Working with a further education provider in the North West, you'll assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback and adapt your approach to meet the needs of individuals across different levels.
If you come from industry rather than a teaching background, that's welcome here. You'll be supported to develop your classroom practice through mentoring and ongoing professional development.
Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and delivering practical and theory-based lessons across multi-skills disciplines.
Assessing and monitoring learner progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.
Creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
Preparing learning materials and resources appropriate to each level and cohort.
Supporting learners to develop the technical and employability skills they need to progress.
What We're Looking ForEssential: Relevant occupational experience in a trade or multi-skills disciplineA recognised vocational or trade qualification in your specialismThe ability to engage and motivate learners of differing abilitiesStrong communication and organisational skillsDesirable (but not essential):A teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalentPrevious experience of teaching or assessing in a further education settingAssessor qualifications such as TAQA or A1If you don't yet hold a teaching qualification, don't let that hold you back.
