Are you an experienced motor vehicle professional looking to inspire the next generation of technicians? We're looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Motor Vehicle Lecturer to join our team at our Middleton Campus on a permanent, part-time basis. Whether you're an experienced lecturer or currently working in the automotive industry, we'd love to hear from you. If you're new to teaching, we'll provide fully funded teacher training and ongoing support to help you build a rewarding career in further education.

About the Role

As a Motor Vehicle Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons to learners studying Level 1 to Level 3 Motor Vehicle qualifications. Working with our full-time further education students, you'll help develop the technical knowledge, practical skills and confidence they need to succeed in the automotive industry. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality workshop and classroom-based teaching.
  • Teaching a range of motor vehicle theory and practical subjects.
  • Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and reach their full potential.
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
  • Promoting safe working practices within the workshop environment.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an outstanding learner experience.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle, Motor Mechanics or a closely related discipline.
  • Recent industry experience within the automotive sector.
  • Excellent practical and technical knowledge.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for helping others develop their skills.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience delivering vocational qualifications.
  • Previous experience working with young people or apprentices.
