Salary: £27,702 - £41,892 per annum (dependent on experience)

We are seeking an inspiring and enthusiastic English Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching to 16+ learners re-sitting their English GCSE or completing Functional Skills qualifications.

Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and creative lessons in GCSE and Functional Skills English to learners aged 16+.
  • Teach part-time adult learners through evening classes as required.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess lessons that inspire confidence and achievement.
  • Support learners in achieving a minimum of grade 4 at GCSE level.
  • Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback to maximise success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and enhance curriculum design.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in English or related subject, or Level 5 qualification in teaching English.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience delivering English at GCSE and/or Functional Skills level.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive, learner-focused education.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple campuses.
