About the Role

As a Multi Skills Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging, practical teaching across a range of construction and trade disciplines, helping learners build the hands-on skills and underpinning knowledge they need to progress into employment or further study. You'll plan and prepare lessons that blend theory with practical application, creating a supportive learning environment where students can develop their confidence and competence. Working with a further education provider in the North West, you'll assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback and adapt your approach to meet the needs of individuals across different levels.

If you come from industry rather than a teaching background, that's welcome here. You'll be supported to develop your classroom practice through mentoring and ongoing professional development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering practical and theory-based lessons across multi-skills disciplines.
  • Assessing and monitoring learner progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.
  • Creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Preparing learning materials and resources appropriate to each level and cohort.
  • Supporting learners to develop the technical and employability skills they need to progress.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Relevant occupational experience in a trade or multi-skills discipline
  • A recognised vocational or trade qualification in your specialism
  • The ability to engage and motivate learners of differing abilities
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent
  • Previous experience of teaching or assessing in a further education setting
  • Assessor qualifications such as TAQA or A1

If you don't yet hold a teaching qualification, don't let that hold you back. The right candidate will be supported with training, mentoring and ongoing development.

Inspire the Next Generation

If you're ready to share your trade expertise and help learners build practical skills for the future, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today.
