Are you an experienced additional learning support professional ready to lead a team and make a real difference to learners who need extra help to succeed?
About the role
You'll lead the additional learning support function for a further education provider, making sure learners with additional needs receive the support they need to thrive and achieve. Working across the organisation, you'll shape and develop the support on offer and ensure it is high quality, consistent and responsive to learners' needs. You'll manage and develop a team of support staff, setting clear standards and helping colleagues grow in their roles. Working closely with teaching teams, you'll make sure support is embedded across the curriculum and that every learner can access the help they are entitled to. You'll also monitor the impact of the support provided, using insight to identify improvements and to ensure the organisation meets its responsibilities to learners with additional needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing the additional learning support function across the organisation.
- Managing, supporting and developing a team of learning support staff.
- Working with teaching teams to embed effective support across the curriculum.
- Ensuring support is high quality, consistent and responsive to learner needs.
- Monitoring the impact of support and using insight to inform improvements.
- Ensuring the organisation meets its responsibilities to learners with additional needs.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- Experience of leading or coordinating additional learning support in an education setting.
- Experience of managing and developing a team.
- A strong understanding of the needs of learners requiring additional support.
- The ability to build effective relationships with colleagues across teams and local authorities.
- Strong funding knowledge.
- A commitment to helping every learner achieve their potential.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience within a further education setting.
- A relevant qualification in learning support, education or a related field.
