The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 Β£ per hour.

We are seeking a dedicated and engaging GCSE English Lecturer to join a leading Further Education college in Staffordshire. You will be delivering high-quality teaching to learners who are resitting Maths as part of their study programme, supporting them to achieve a Grade 4 and develop essential numeracy skills for work, life, and further study.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and accessible GCSE English lessons to learners of mixed abilities
  • Plan and prepare schemes of work, lesson resources, and assessments
  • Track learner progress, marking and providing timely feedback
  • Support students with gaps in knowledge, building confidence and motivation
  • Work collaboratively with the Maths team and wider curriculum staff
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and a positive learning environment

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience teaching GCSE English within FE or secondary education
  • Strong understanding of the GCSE specification and effective resit strategies
  • Ability to differentiate and adapt teaching to varied learning needs
  • Excellent communication, organisational skills, and ability to inspire learners

Qualifications (any of the following welcome)

  • We welcome applicants with a range of UK teaching qualifications, including (but not limited to): QTS, QTLS, PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS, DET, Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training, or equivalent.
  • A Maths-specific qualification or strong numeracy background is essential.
