About the Role
You'll take strategic responsibility for quality across the organisation, working closely with curriculum leaders, teaching staff and senior management to raise standards and improve outcomes for learners. You'll lead on self-assessment, quality improvement planning and the observation of teaching, learning and assessment, using data and evidence to identify strengths and areas for development. This is a senior leadership role suited to someone who can combine strategic oversight with hands-on involvement in driving improvement at every level of the organisation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development and implementation of the organisation's quality improvement strategy.
- Overseeing self-assessment processes and the production of self-assessment reports and quality improvement plans.
- Managing a programme of learning walks, observations and lesson visits to support and challenge teaching staff.
- Analysing performance data to identify trends, risks and areas requiring intervention.
- Working with curriculum and departmental leaders to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
- Supporting compliance with the relevant inspection framework and regulatory requirements.
- Leading and developing a team of quality staff.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Significant experience in a quality assurance or quality improvement leadership role within further education.
- Strong understanding of the current inspection framework and quality improvement methodologies.
- Experience of leading self-assessment and quality improvement planning processes.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data to inform strategic decisions.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- A relevant teaching qualification.
Desirable (but not essential):
- A leadership and management qualification.
- Experience conducting or leading Ofsted-style inspections or peer reviews.
