About the role

You'll lead the delivery of marine engineering programmes for a further education provider, combining practical workshop teaching with the underpinning theory learners need to succeed. Working across a range of levels, you'll bring your industry experience into the classroom and workshop, helping learners build the knowledge and skills that employers value.

As lead lecturer, you'll take responsibility for the quality and development of the curriculum, guiding and supporting colleagues to deliver teaching that stays current and relevant to the sector. You'll create a positive and supportive learning environment, monitor learner progress and adapt teaching to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the design, planning, delivery and assessment of marine engineering programmes across a range of levels.
  • Delivering a mix of practical workshop teaching and underpinning theory.
  • Guiding and supporting colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Shaping and developing the curriculum so it stays current and relevant to the sector.
  • Monitoring learner progress and adapting teaching to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners.
  • Creating a positive and supportive learning environment.

What we're looking for

Essential:

  • Significant experience in the marine engineering sector
  • Strong practical and technical knowledge relevant to the curriculum

  • Experience of teaching, training or assessing in a further education setting
