You will deliver high-quality teaching across Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Carpentry programmes, combining your industry experience with practical workshop delivery and classroom-based learning.
The Role
- Deliver engaging theory and practical sessions across Carpentry and Joinery programmes.
- Plan and prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.
- Assess learner progress and maintain accurate student records.
- Support students through tutorials and provide pastoral guidance where required.
- Monitor assessment processes in line with awarding body requirements.
- Promote high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
- Work proactively to support the success and vision of the Construction department.
What We're Looking For
- Essential: NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Carpentry or Joinery.
- GCSE Grade C/Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Strong industry experience within Carpentry and Joinery.
- Passion for supporting and developing learners.
- Desirable: Level 5 Teaching Qualification or equivalent.
- Previous teaching, training or mentoring experience.
- Willingness to work towards a teaching qualification if not already held.
Exceptional candidates with the right skills and experience may also be eligible for an additional industry expertise uplift.
