Are you an experienced CNC machinist or precision engineering professional looking to inspire the next generation of technicians and engineers?
About the role
You'll design, plan, deliver and assess engaging machining and CNC programmes, combining practical workshop teaching with the theory learners need to succeed. Working across a range of levels, you'll bring your industry experience into the classroom and workshop, helping learners build the knowledge and skills that employers value.
You'll create a positive and supportive learning environment, monitor learner progress and adapt your teaching to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners. Working closely with colleagues, you'll help shape and develop the curriculum so it stays current and relevant to the sector.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, planning, delivering and assessing machining and CNC programmes across a range of levels.
- Delivering a mix of practical workshop teaching and underpinning theory.
- Bringing current industry practice and standards into your teaching.
- Assessing learner work fairly and giving clear, constructive feedback.
- Creating a safe, positive and supportive workshop environment.
- Monitoring learner progress and adapting your teaching to meet individual needs.
- Working with colleagues to develop and keep the curriculum relevant.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- Substantial practical experience in CNC, machining or precision engineering
- The ability to teach and demonstrate practical skills clearly to learners
- A commitment to helping learners achieve and progress
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Relevant Level 3 Qualification
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
- An assessor qualification
- Previous experience teaching or mentoring in an education or training setting
