The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.
Oversee the operating team for all aspects of cereal plant production, including the smooth operation of production equipment including but not limited to the extruder and syrup coating system. Allocating and supervising all work activities of the cereal plant production team. Comply with BRC requirements ensuring a clean, hygienic and safe working environment at all times. Maintain a strong presence in the production area with a hands-on approach, drive continuous improvement themes.
Work Pattern: 14:00-22:00 but could become part of a shift rotation after any training period.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Organising daily activities of the cereal plant operators
- Preparing mixes for the production run using various equipment
- Checking, weighing, and mixing ingredients for both dry and wet mixes
- Running equipment: extruder, conditioner, flaking mill, toaster and other related machinery
- Checking quality throughout production including bulk density and brix checks
- Control of ingredients including F.I.F.O
- Final product inspection
- Production, quality and technical paperwork ensuring full traceability
- Ensure department workspaces are clean & tidy including keeping accurate records
- Documentation relevant to position
- Deputise for Production Manager if required
- Other duties as required
- Compliance with relevant UK law
Requirements:
- Sound educational background
- Previous customer service experience
- Understanding of microbiological and chemical food testing
- Customer first attitude
- Good communicator
- Excel & PowerPoint skills
