Job Description – Material Analyst

Dover Fueling Solutions, Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

The Materials Analyst position is a fast-paced role that assists the Material Manager with the management of specified commodities (electronics and indirects) in respect of positioning the right quantity of parts in the right place at the right time in support of the production and planning teams at Dover FS Dundee.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Purchase order management – Placing POs and processing order acknowledgements.
  2. Develop supplier relationships and support the roll out of new interactive reporting tool.
  3. Liaise closely with other internal departments to resolve shortage issues.
  4. Coordinate collections at suppliers in conjunction with the approved logistics partners.
  5. Resolution of the following:
  1. Goods Receiving queries.
  2. Invoice hold issues.
  3. Quality Return issues.
  • Support ECO process.
  • Using Oracle system, ensuring all standard work activities are executed in a timely manner.
  • Where applicable utilize existing supply chain tools such as Faxban, Pick List, Vendor Schedule or Kanban in support of business requirements.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement tasks and projects as requested and champion change.
  • Any additional duties as required.
  • Key Skills/Experience and Qualification

    1. Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Material Analyst / Planner or similar fast-paced role, ideally having experience within indirects and electronics.
    2. Oracle experience preferred but not essential.
    3. Knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement is an advantage.
    4. Competent MS Office applications user, especially Excel.
    5. Great interpersonal and communication skills.
    6. Self-motivated and pro-active.
