The Role & Responsibilities

This is a key role supporting the accurate and timely processing of the Council's income, payments, and financial data. You'll help ensure we remain fully compliant with financial regulations, HMRC guidance, contract procedure rules and all relevant legislation. We're looking for someone who is highly organised with an eye for detail and accuracy. You do not need to tick every box; if you have strong analytical skills and enjoy working with financial systems, we want to hear from you.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in a finance environment, preferably within accounts payable or accounts receivable
  • A proven ability to learn new financial systems
  • Clear communication skills, especially when supporting colleagues who aren't finance specialists
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to work calmly under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • A positive, team-focused approach and a willingness to learn
  • Minimum 3 GCSEs (or equivalent), English and Maths (desirable)
