Overview

We are currently recruiting for a caretaker for various locations which include the Whitfield office, Kearsney Abbey Cafe, the Maison Dieu (Dover town hall), and the Roman Painted House on a contract of 22 hours per week.

Hours will be spred over 3 to 4 days per week, including 1 in 3 Saturdays on occasions. Evenings and Sundays could also be requested on a rota basis.

This role is vital to the day-to-day running of the corporate assets.

Responsibilities

  • maintenance and minor repairs
  • carrying out weekly heating, lighting and alarm systems test to ensure we are compliant
  • carrying out duties that require working at height
  • booking outside contractors in for associated works to buildings and assisting them in locations
  • office moves
  • ensuring cleanliness of buildings, internally and externally (including paths, car parks and grassed areas)
  • collection and storage of waste
  • arranging tables and chairs for meetings/events
  • ensuring refreshments are replenished in meeting rooms
  • opening and closing the building
  • delivering parcels, franking post and ensuring post services are met to the office needs
  • carrying out H&S weekly/monthly tests across all sites.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • can work alone and as part of a team
  • will need to have a proactive way of thinking as at times will need to deliver the day-to-day tasks across the various sites
  • can prioritise workload whilst ensuring that planned weekly Health and safety tasks are carried out across all sites
  • has a driving licence as on occasions will be required to work at other locations including the, Kearsney Abbey, the Roman Painted House and Maison Dieu. This will include weekend and evening working.
