Dovehaven Care Homes are recruiting for a Maintenance Person to join our team at Callands Care Home in Warrington - working Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm, 40hr Contract available.

Callands is a welcoming home in the heart of Warrington, offering tailored care across five smaller households, each designed to feel calm, personal, and familiar. We support up to 120 residents with a wide range of needs, offering personalised care in an environment where your loved one can feel safe, comfortable and understood. To create a true sense of belonging and connection, our home is thoughtfully divided into five households, each named after a beautiful body of water from the Lake District.
About The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the general maintenance of the care home, ultimately ensuring the safety of all residents, visitors and employees.
- General Internal Maintenance: furniture, fixtures and fittings, equipment basic heating faults
- General Exterior: Maintain grounds & gardens, fences and furniture, clear snow and grit paths, clean all signs & lighting.
- Safety: Identify hazards and risks, testing of fire alarm, liaise with contractors onsite, maintain a maintenance book. Ensure paints & varnishes are stored correctly, test and record water temps
- Moving & Handling: assisting receiving deliveries and storage
- General duties as requested by the home manager or maintenance manager
About You
Our ideal Maintenance Person will have the following:
- Essential Experience of DIY and decorating
- Caring nature
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and individually
- Flexibility and be able to adapt to the needs of Residents
- Full clean driving licence
- A Health & Safety or Maintenance qualification is desirable
- Previous experience within a Care or Nursing Home setting or similar
