Location: The Brunswick, Southport – Lord Street, Southport

28.5 hours per week – 3 days – 8am–6pm on a rota basis and alternate weekend availability required.

About The Brunswick

The Brunswick is a residential care home with 55 rooms across 4 floors. Our aim is to ensure all our residents feel as comfortable as possible, our homes promote independence, dignity and respect through positive risk taking and empowerment.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll support the Head Cook with the preparation, serving, and cleanliness of the kitchen, helping ensure residents receive nutritious, well‑presented meals each day.

  • Assisting with the preparation and simple cooking of breakfast, lunch, and evening meals
  • Preparing sandwiches, snacks, sweets, and drinks
  • Supporting with food presentation and preparing trays for service
  • Washing up and ensuring crockery and kitchen equipment are cleaned and stored correctly
  • Maintaining high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
  • Completing kitchen close‑down and cleaning duties at the end of the day
  • Checking and recording food and equipment temperatures accurately
  • Ensuring food stores, fridges, and freezers are clean, tidy, and well stocked
  • Assisting with deliveries and putting stock away appropriately
  • Following food hygiene, infection control, and health
