Dovehaven Care Homes are Recruiting for a Cook to join our team at Paradise House, Paradise Lane, Leyland. Working 3 days a week on a rota basis – 8am – 6pm with alternate weekend availability required – 30hr Contract available.

About the role:
The role of Cook will require you to ensure that nutritious and beautifully presented meals are provided for our residents.
At Paradise House we use Apetito as our catering supplier, Apetito are a company who produce nutritious, great-tasting meals for hospitals, care homes and community services across the UK. They have a wide range of well-presented, nutritious meals to suit every taste and dietary need, they aim to make a real difference to lives of elderly and vulnerable people in care.
About you:
You will have a caring nature and a positive attitude, showing a desire to deliver the best possible standards for residents in our care. You will be an energetic, friendly team player with good organisation and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure effectively. You will be able to demonstrate compassion and empathy in your approach to residents with varying needs, tastes and dietary requirements.
Ideal candidates will have previous residential home or hotel experience with the ability to prepare meals for 50 or more residents. You will be dependable and flexible to meet the needs of the residents and the home.
Qualifications:
The post holder is expected to possess or be willing to work towards achievement of at least Catering (C&G) or NVQ 3. Qualifications in Food Hygiene and First Aid are desirable.
