About the Role

  • Support the Home Manager and lead nursing and care teams to deliver safe, effective, and person‑centred care for residents.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and deliver high‑quality, person‑centred nursing care
  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to nurses and care staff
  • Assist the Home Manager with clinical governance and compliance requirements
  • Monitor and audit care practices to maintain high standards
  • Administer medication safely and oversee medication management processes
  • Monitor residents’ nutritional and dietary needs
  • Support wound care, infection control, and pressure area care management
  • Review care plans, risk assessments, and clinical documentation for accuracy and compliance
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and safeguarding concerns as required
  • Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and competency assessments
  • Promote a safe environment by leading by example
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and prepare for inspections and audits

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Currently registered with the NMC for the appropriate client group (valid PIN required)
  • Previous care home experience
  • Experience in medication administration and clinical oversight
  • Knowledge of wound care, infection control, and pressure area care
  • Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring nursing and care teams
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Experience completing audits, care plan reviews, and clinical documentation
  • Good understanding of CQC standards and clinical governance processes
