An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cook to join our Dovehaven Team at our Pennine View Care Home on Addison Street, Accrington. This role will require you to work 40 hours a week on a rota basis. The working hours will be 4 days a week - 7am - 6pm on a rota basis with alternate weekend availability required!

Pennine View is a residential care home catering for up to 50 residents. The home specialises in dementia care and is maintained to a very high standard. Our team provides a secure, happy and welcoming atmosphere for all residents and visitors.

About the role: You will be required to ensure that nutritious and beautifully presented meals are provided for our residents. At a number of our Dovehaven Homes, we use a company called Apetito, which produces nutritious, great-tasting meals for hospitals, care homes, and community services across the UK. They have a wide range of well-presented, nutritious meals to suit every taste and dietary need, aiming to make a real difference to the lives of elderly and vulnerable people in care. It is desirable but not necessary for the post holder to possess or be willing to work towards achievement of at least Catering (C&G) or NVQ 3. Qualifications in Food Hygiene and First Aid are also desirable.

About you: You will have a caring nature and a positive attitude, showing a desire to deliver the best possible standards for residents in our care. You will be an energetic, friendly team player with good organisation and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure effectively. You will be able to demonstrate compassion and empathy in your approach to residents with varying needs, tastes, and dietary requirements. Ideal candidates will have previous care home or hotel experience with the ability to prepare meals for 50 or more residents. You will be dependable and flexible to meet the needs of the residents and the home.
