Warehouse Operative
Pay Rate: £13.05 per hour
Contract: Permanent
Location: Pontefract, WF8 3DD
Hours:6:00am to 6:00pm, 38.5 Hours per week
Week 1:Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Week 2:Wednesday and ThursdayONLY!

A committed team of over 700 staff oversee the whole process from procuring the best possible livestock from our carefully picked group of farms, through butchery, retail packaging and despatch before it finally arrives on the supermarket shelf or as part of the restaurant dining experience
About you:

What to expect:
To oversee the issuing of specific packaging and ingredients to lines in production ensuring efficiency and traceability across all packaging and ingredients.
Duties will include:
- Keep all equipment in good working order.
- Work in a way which minimizes or eliminates food safety risks such as cross contamination
- Assist in looking after the warehouse in a clean & tidy manner.
- Assist in Control of packaging issued & returned to production if required.
- Assist in repacking of returned items & transfer thereof from holding area to stores if required
- Assist in ensuring stock items are maintained at required levels
- Assist in ensuring all packaging items are stored in the required state for food contact items – retaining integrity and trace.
- Assist in ensuring the warehouse is manned at all times, covering other purchasing staff when on breaks
- Maintain integrity of packaging trolleys and cages.
- Communicate with Manager, other purchasing staff and production staff effectively
- Ferry trolleys back and forth between holding area and main store if required
- Assist in using Retail Production plan to collate all stock required for Retail Production and pick into appropriate cage/trolley.
- Assist in ensuring ALL picked stock is labeled clearly for trace.
- Communicate stock/product issues to Manager/Warehouse team leader
- Ensure errors are reported and dealt with immediately and do not result in stock shortages or inappropriate use of packaging on the lines
- Disposal of empty boxes
- Assist warehouse team leader in general warehouse duties
- Take in deliveries ensuring paper work and trace labels as appropriate
- Issue ppe and control PPE rooms
- Issue chemicals and control chemical stores
- Issue stationery and control stationery room
- Complete stock counts when required.
- Place orders for stock items and stationary when required.
