A well-established food manufacturing business in Pontefract, West Yorkshire is recruiting a Process Technologist to support product launches, factory trials and continuous improvement across its production operation. This permanent role is advertised via the Meatex Jobs Board.
This position is ideal for a hands-on technologist with experience in food manufacturing who enjoys working cross-functionally between NPD, Technical, Operations and Engineering.
Location: Pontefract, West Yorkshire
On-site role: Permanent, full-time
Working pattern: Monday to Friday, Day shift hours
Role purpose:
- Support the successful transfer of products from development into factory production
- Drive process optimisation, product consistency and technical compliance across manufacturing
Key Responsibilities:
- Support NPD trials, first productions and scale-up activities
- Lead and document factory trials, validations and process changes
- Develop and maintain process specifications and work instructions
- Identify opportunities to improve yield, quality, efficiency and consistency
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Technical and NPD teams
- Troubleshoot process issues and support corrective actions
- Ensure products are manufactured safely, legally and to specification
- Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
- Maintain accurate technical and process documentation
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience as a Process Technologist or similar role in food manufacturing
- Strong understanding of factory processes and production environments
- Knowledge of food safety, HACCP and quality standards
- Confident working cross-functionally on the factory floor
- Analytical, organised and solutions-focused approach
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Willingness to be hands-on and operationally involved
