Role:Process Technologist
Contract: 12 month FTC (Maternity cover)
Pay Rate:Competitive
Location:Pontefract, WF8 3DD
Shift Available:Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm (1 hour break)
Who are we?
We are a family business established in Yorkshire in 1997 based in Darrington just outside of Pontefract with a reputation for exceptional product, innovation, and industry leading animal welfare standards. Our facilities combine traditional British butchery technique with some of the best technological prowess in the food sector.
A committed team of over 700 staff oversee the whole process from procuring the best possible livestock from our carefully picked group of farms, through butchery, retail packaging and despatch before it finally arrives on the supermarket shelf or as part of the restaurant dining experience.
About you:
- Attention to detail with a diligent approach to work activities
- Good communication with staff across site and external visitors.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining quality and speed.
Role:
- Develop and get approval from technical and production for new products including recipe formulation
- Take all new products from customer approval through to factory launch following the company procedures.
- Develop and get approval for new factory processes including new machinery
- Develop and get approval for new packaging solutions
- Take active involvement in product development to cover potential issues with concepts
- Coordinate and report transit trials for all new products
- Research and trial new production machinery as and when required.
- Complete trial record documentation for all trials in line with customer policies and BRC requirements
- Resolve issues from production trials
- Analyse current production processes and look at continuous process improvement and any project work that need undertaking.
- Build relationships with ingredient and machinery suppliers
- To comply with all customer policies.
- Coordinate and manage post launch reviews for all new products.
- Investigate and trial any process improvements that can be made for existing product i.e. high complaints.
