Production Operative
Pay Rate: Β£13.10 per hour
Contract: Permanent
Location:Pontefract, WF8 3DD
Hours: 6:00am to 3:00pm, 40 Hours per week, Monday to Friday

A committed team of over 700 staff oversee the whole process from procuring the best possible livestock from our carefully picked group of farms, through butchery, retail packaging and despatch before it finally arrives on the supermarket shelf or as part of the restaurant dining experience

About you:

  • Role requires good communication with staff across site and external visitors.
  • Attention to detail with a diligent approach to work activities.
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining quality, legislation requirement and speed.

What to expect:

  • Ensure the controlled processing, cooking and packing of raw meat.
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining quality, legislation requirement and speed.
  • Achieve daily output schedule for production
  • Work in a way which minimizes or eliminates food safety risks such as cross contamination in particular whilst working with different breeds and allergens.
  • Ensure that all cooking and legislative procedures are strictly adhered to.
  • Put and store waste in designated places.
  • Ensure finished product is separated from raw materials to prevent cross contamination or any other hazards to food safety.
  • Ensure correct sealing process is followed.
  • Ensure correct traceability labelling of product.
  • Ensure familiarization with different types of metal detectors and procedure
